Fund Overview
A focus on high quality bonds outside the U.S.
Actively managed to maximize total return potential and minimize volatility relative to its market benchmark, PIMCO Foreign Bond Fund (U.S. Dollar-Hedged) offers investors access to intermediate-term fixed income securities primarily from investment grade issuers in developed countries.
Why Invest In This Fund
A global opportunity set
Over half of the world’s fixed income securities are issued outside of the U.S. The fund strives to capture returns in this global bond market universe. Diversifying investments internationally not only helps to mitigate volatility, but may also effectively hedge against risks in other asset classes, such as equities. Of course, diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss.
A high quality focus
Guided by PIMCO’s global perspective and on-the-ground insights into country fundamentals, PIMCO Foreign Bond Fund (U.S. Dollar-Hedged) invests in a range of primarily investment grade bonds, hedging at least 80% of all foreign currency exposure to protect against unfavorable currency movements.
A time-tested investment process
PIMCO’s team of investment professionals has estimable global experience navigating complex foreign sovereign debt markets. Supported by a deep global presence, the fund capitalizes on PIMCO’s thought-leadership and time-tested investment process, which guide portfolio construction via our top-down macroeconomic outlook and a rigorous bottom-up credit analysis.
Scott A. Mather Mr. Mather is a managing director in the Newport Beach office and head of global portfolio management.
